Brief excerpt on Eric Stengel
|
From Recent Book
Eric Stengel’s boutique practice is one of great passion. Founded in 1991, this Nashville-based firm specializes in the niche of traditional residential architecture. Eric is a multifaceted man with an insatiable curiosity and a wide variety of interests, two of which rate highest: an affinity for refined classical design and the fascinating science of structure and systems. In keeping with his technical interest, at the early age of eight he drew, built and flew wooden airplanes and gliders - ultimately leading this renaissance man to become a competition sailplane pilot.
With a clear mission in life to be both an artist and technical expert Eric earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. Complementing his professional architectural studies he also received decorative arts training at the Musée du Louvre in Paris. It is not surprising to learn that Eric is known for designing academically correct classical homes while integrating sophisticated technical requirements. Keeping the needs of his well-informed patrons foremost, he applies true classical principles to each custom residence adeptly reinterpreted to suit today’s lifestyles. - excerpt from: "Dream Homes of Tennessee" 2009
